Private conversations, nearby and around the world.

eteyo is a messaging app that works over Bluetooth mesh and through independent relays, powered by open protocols. No accounts. No central message server. No ads or tracking.

How it works

• Nearby. Chat with people around you over Bluetooth mesh, even without internet.
• Around. Join public place channels for your city or region.
• Private. Private chats are end-to-end encrypted. Internet delivery goes through Tor by default.

Safe by design

Block anyone, report messages, and read exactly what a report contains before it is sent. See Privacy, Terms and Support.

Built on bitchat

eteyo is a fork of bitchat, the open-source Bluetooth mesh messenger by permissionlesstech and its contributors. It keeps bitchat's mesh, relay protocol and cryptography, so people using eteyo and people using bitchat can see each other and exchange messages. eteyo is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the bitchat project. See the notices and licenses.
